Nadezhda and Manuel: a small town by Lake Constance

Nadezhda from Kyiv and Manuel from Germany. They met through Jaroslavna, and by the time this account was written Nadezhda had been living for a fourth year in Lindau — a small town on Lake Constance, at the foot of the Alps.

“I spent my first Christmas in Germany still as a fiancée. I remember how everything surprised me — a small town, no traffic jams, how clean the water is, the air. After Kyiv, where I used to sit in traffic for two hours, here I get to work in fifteen minutes, on foot or on a scooter,” Nadezhda says.

“I thought it would be dull after Kyiv. It isn't. I enjoy the quiet and the calm, the beauty of the Alps and Lake Constance, how well kept the parks and the promenade are. It is like living at a resort for the fourth year running.”

“And the main thing is that I love and am loved by my husband. That is what I was missing badly back home in Kyiv.”
