Lubov from Ukraine and David from the United States met in August 2021 — in person, at the Jaroslavna office. Through a war, an operation and thousands of kilometres, they came to a church wedding in Kyiv. She tells it herself, in the words she used at the time.
Lubov and David: an office in Kyiv, then a church on Podil
Ukraine → United States · met in person in August 2021 · married in Kyiv in May 2022

“From the first minute I felt a connection, and that first impression turned out to be right. David was attentive from the very beginning and looked after me,” Lubov says.
When David flew back to the United States, the relationship continued. He supported Lubov, both emotionally and practically. What grew between them was warm and built on trust.
Six months later David proposed. The couple began gathering the documents for the marriage. Then in February 2022 the war began, and Lubov left for Poland.
There something unexpected happened: Lubov ended up in hospital and needed an operation.
“David flew straight out to me from the United States. He was with me the whole time — he slept in the hospital room and went days without sleep. I feel well now; the doctors said I will live a long life.”
In May 2022 Lubov and David married and had their church wedding at a church on Podil in Kyiv. That is where her account ends.
“I am very happy, I love him with all my heart, and I feel that it is mutual.”
